Epstein: The Man Who Made The Beatles in London

Epstein: The Man Who Made The Beatles brings the story of the Fab Four's enigmatic manager Brian Epstein to the stage. The music entrepreneur's stellar career made him a household name, yet his controversial personal life remained very much in the closet. Brian died in 1967 of an accidental overdose at the age of 32.

This multi-media play with live music is written by Andrew Sherlock, directed by Jen Heyes and brought to you by Bill Elms & Jen Heyes Productions Ltd. It premiered to critical acclaim in November 2012 as part of the official programme of Liverpool’s 50th Anniversary of the Beatles.

This two-hander imagines the brilliant but troubled Epstein's drug-fuelled final days whilst looking back upon his illustrious adult life and meteoric career, from drama school days to managing the world’s biggest pop group.

It's a must-see opportunity to discover a previously unexplored story and celebrate a true icon of 1960’s popular culture – a man who shaped music and style across the world.

Stage and TV actor Andrew Lancel (Coronation Street, The Bill) plays Brian Epstein and with newcomer Will Finlason as ‘This Boy’ – a role that embodies the soul of 60s Liverpool.

Fascinating Glimpse into The Beatles Manager's Life

Brian Epstein was a flawed man as genius' often are and this excellent play gives a small insight into his troubled yet wildly successful life. Set in August 1967 it tells his story using two excellent actors with Andrew Lancel incredibly believable as Epstein. I urge you to see it while you can.
