About The Nutcracker - English National Ballet
The Nutcracker - English National Ballet description
The timeless Christmas story of Nutcracker makes its way back to the London Coliseum for Christmas, performed by the brilliant English National Ballet.
On Christmas Eve in Edwardian London, Clara is given a Nutcracker doll for Christmas, and the pair go on an enchanted adventure to discover a magical world. Clara battles with a Mouse King, discovers a handsome prince, and journeys to the Land of Sweets, which is ruled by the Sugar Plum Fairy. The pair meet sweet-makers from all around the world, and eventually take off in a hot air balloon ride over the glistening Land of the Snow, where Clara’s adventure is only just beginning.
The iconic ballet features a divine score by Tchaikovsky including ‘Waltz of the Flowers’, and ‘Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy’.
Over 100 dancers and musicians will be bringing Nutcracker to life, and the show will feature exquisite dancing, beautiful costumes and scenery, and the score played by a live orchestra.
Please note: Your tickets will be dispatched one week from performance.

A very good production, very different from the last time I saw this ballet ,which was good. Excellent music as always with the Czech master. Very good costumes and the youngsters in the show performed well. My wife and I enjoyed it very much.

I have two sons, four grandsons and ONE grand-daughter! When she was 5 I took her, her mother and her other granny to this show, last year I took her on my own and this year it was again just the two of us. This year I whispered that the conductor would soon arrive and as the orchestra began to play, the smile on her face as she recognised the music simply broke my heart! She loved it and we will be back again and again. Her memory of the music, the ice skating, King Rat and Clara's naughty brother are so special. A beautiful production. The principal dancers this year were simply perfection. However, I felt that the second half lacked something but I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was - it seemed a little separate from the main house party somehow. I will book earlier next year!!

This was a truly beautiful rendition of the classic. The scenery and costumes were beautifully traditional, and all performances were strong. A great experience for everyone!

A must see for any little girl who dreams of becoming a ballerina. Truely magical. The interpretation of the story was slightly different than I gave seen in that there was no dancing sweeties etc but there was a beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy solo.

Perfect staff venue performance and evening. Humbling. I cannot understand the humankind. Man has the capacity for such beauty - this ballet an example. Then we kill each other. Bizarre

I have seen several renditions of The Nutcracker but this was possibly my favorite! The scenery was amazingly elaborate. I do wish the costumes would have been a little better. The theater was nice but a bit warm. Other than that, everything was wonderful!
