Due to phenomenal demand, producers of The Rocky Horror Show scheduled to open at the Playhouse theatre in the West End have announced eight further performances, extending the run through to 26 September 2015.
Originally playing for just eight performances from the 11 September, the extension now doubles the audience for the cult musical, staring the show's creator Richard O’Brien as the Narrator.
In a statement O’Brien said ‘The response to The Rocky Horror Show has been outstanding; we're delighted to be adding more dates to the run at The Playhouse. We are all really looking forward to being a part of these very special shows’
With an all-star cast signed up for the gala performance on 17 September in aid of the charity Amnesty International, it was also announced that Anthony Head will join the already revealed A-listers including Emma Bunton, Mel Giedroyc and Stephen Fry.
Actor Anthony Head is best know for his role as Giles in the popular television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but has also trodden the boards in the West End and on Broadway.
The West End run precedes a UK tour, opening at the Theatre Royal Brighton on 17 December 2015.
Tickets for the newly announced performances of The Rocky Horror Show went on sale on Friday 28 August. The advice is to book quickly, as the first batch sold like hotcakes!
