Cast announced for A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM at Sam Wanamaker Playhouse

The notable Shakespearean classic will be performed for the first time in the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse from next month, with the production directed by Headlong's Artistic Director, Holly Race Roughan and co-directed by Naeem Hayat.

A Midsummer Night's Dream follows the acclaimed co-production of Henry V in 2022.
The cast comprises of Hedydd Dylan (The Comedy of Errors)as Hippolyta / Titania, Dannie Harris (A Midsummer Night's Dream, Antic Disposition) as Ensemble / Cover, Jack Humphrey as (The Secret Garden, Regent's Park Open Air Theatre) as Quince / Egeus, Lou Jackson (in his professional debut) as Demetrius / Cobweb, Pria Kalsi (The Last Quiz Night on Earth) as Flute / Child, Danny Kirrane (Jerusalem, Royal Court Theatre) as Bottom, Tiwa Lade (My Father's Fable, Bush Theatre) as Hermia / Mustardseed, Ben Lynn (The Malcontent, Shakespeare's Globe) as Ensemble / Cover, Michael Marcus (The Invention of Love, Hampstead Theatre) as Theseus / Oberon, David Olaniregun (Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare's Globe) as Lysander / Moth, Tara Tijani (School Girls: Or, The African Mean Girls Play, Lyric Hammersmith) as Helena / Peaseblossom, and Sergo Vares (The New Real, Royal Shakespeare Company) as Puck.
Within the intimate space of the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, A Midsummer Night's Dream will be illuminated by candlelight, showcasing the shadowy underbelly of one of Shakespeare's most-loved comedies, where reality becomes an illusion, and as day turns to night, snow starts to fall in summer.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream will play from 15 November - 31 January 2026.
