The production by Ava Pickett, whose directorial debut 1536 heads to the West End this Spring, will receive its world premiere in London this Autumn.
Artwork for Bloodsport: After Helen of Troy.
Billed as a play about friendship and motherhood, Bloodsport: After Helen of Troy centres on Helen, who returns home after walking out on her family. Her husband celebrates, but her childhood friend Cee does not. Over the course of this first fragile night of peace time, wounds reopen, loyalties fracture, and the true cost of a woman's choice to leave her life is made clear.
It will make Lisa Spirling's debut as Stratford East's new Artistic Director. She was previously the Chief Executive and Artistic Director of Theatre503, and also directed the Olivier-nominated production Vardy v Rooney: The Wagatha Christie Trial in the West End.
Casting for the production is to be announced.
Bloodsport: After Helen of Troy will play at the Stratford East Theatre from 3 September to 3 October 2026.
