BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB to transfer to London in 2027

With a book by Marco Ramirez and orchestrations by Marco Paguia, this musical reimagines the story of the Buena Vista Social Club, a musical ensemble of Cuban musicians in 1996 who assembled in Havana to make what would become a historic recording session, with the resulting album showcasing the popular styles of the time, such as son, bolero, and danzon. It features an infectious blend of Afro-Cuban rhythm and Spanish melody.

Following an off-Broadway run at the Atlantic Theatre Company in 2023, the production opened on Broadway at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre in March 2025 and embarked on a national tour in September 2026. It has won a Grammy for Best Musical Theatre Album and five Tony Awards, including a special Tony Award for the band. It features the first score in history to be performed solely in Spanish on Broadway.

Buena Vista Social Club will have its final Broadway performance on 17 January 2027, with a London transfer confirmed to follow the same year. Details around dates, venue, and casting will be revealed in due course.
