DOG MAN: THE MUSICAL to receive European Premiere in 2026

Dog Man: The Musical is a hilarious and heartfelt musical, perfect for everyone over 5. Originally produced by TheaterWorksUSA, the musical premiered off-Broadway in June 2019 at the Lucille Lortel. It was extended due to popular demand and then went on a North American tour between 2019 and 2020. The production returned to New York at New World Stages in March 2023.

The book was published in 2016 and has sold over 70 million copies worldwide, and has been translated into 48 languages, with five of the titles currently in the Amazon UK top 50 best-selling children’s books. The Dreamworks animated film based on the books was released earlier in 2025 to great acclaim and box office success.

This epic musical adventure has a book and lyrics by Kevin Del Aguila, music by Brad Alexander, and is directed and choreographed by Jen Wineman.

Dog Man: The Musical shares the adventures of Dog Man, a half-dog, half-human crime-fighting cop who loves to chew on the furniture! Created by best friends George and Harold, who have been writing comics for years, audiences will discover whether Dog Man can save the city from Floppy the cyborg fish and his army of Beasty Buildings whilst trying his best to be a good boy.

The original creative team for Dog Man: The Musical also includes scenic design by Timothy R. Mackabee (The Elephant Man), costume design by Heidi Leigh Hanson (The Addams Family Musical), lighting design by David Lander (The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical), original sound design by Emma Wilk (The Waiting Game), orchestrations by Lloyd Kikoler. Paul Herbert joins the team for the European premiere as Musical Director.

Casting for the production, which plays at the Southbank Centre from 30 July to 16 August 2026, is to be announced.
