A new revival of Lionel Bart's iconic musical OLIVER! is heading to the West Sussex-based theatre this year as part of its 2024 summer programme. There is potential that this will spark a return to the West End as a result.

Audiences have wanted more and OLIVER! may just be heading back to London soon.
A spectacular new production is being fully reconceived especially for the Chichester Festival Theatre by director and choreographer Matthew Bourne and Cameron Mackintosh. Known for their West End transfer success, this promises to be another one of the most unforgettable shows to ever take place in that theatre.
What is OLIVER! about?
Based on the novel by Charles Dickens, OLIVER! tells the story of an orphaned boy who escapes the harsh Victorian workhouse and takes refuge in London's murky underworld. He meets the wily gang leader Fagin and his team of resourceful pickpockets, led by the Artful Dodger. He discovers a friend in the kind-hearted Nancy and when he's wrongly arrested for stealing, Oliver meets an unexpected saviour.
OLIVER! is a huge favourite with theatre audiences and particularly when it comes to its sensational score, including 'Consider Yourself', 'Food Glorious Food' and 'Oom Pah Pah'.
