Original West End cast return to THE COMEDY ABOUT SPIES

The Comedy About Spies is due to return to the Adelphi Theatre this summer, with the original West End cast reprising their roles.

The Comedy About Spies is written by original Mischief members Henry Lewis and Henry Shields and directed by Matt DiCarlo. It's set in 1960s London, where a rogue British agent steals the plans for a new top secret weapon. Spies from the CIA and KGB get together at the Piccadilly Hotel to plan how to find the mole and get the file back. But when three actors auditioning for the title role in the first James Bond film, Dr No, arrive at the hotel, things start to go very wrong.

The Comedy About Spies recently won the WhatsOnStage Award for Best New Play and was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best New Entertainment or Comedy Play following the hit’s critically acclaimed sold-out 21-week West End run in 2025.

The returning cast includes David Hearn (Lance Buchanan), Adele James (Rosemary Wilson), Chris Leask (Sergei Ivanov), Henry Lewis (Douglas Woodbead), Henry Shields (Bernard Wright), Greg Tannahill (Albert Tipton), and Nancy Zamit (Janet Buchanan), with original Mischief member Bryony Corrigan joining as Elena Popova. The cast is completed by Macadie Amoroso (Ensemble/Understudy), Adam Byron (Ensemble/Understudy), Matt Cavendish (Ensemble/Understudy), Allie Dart (Ensemble/Understudy), Niall Ransome (Ensemble/Understudy) and Ashley Tucker (Ensemble/Understudy)
