Production photos released of Jesse Tyler Ferguson in TRU

This funny and heartbreaking one-man play presents an unflinching portrait of the American novelist, screenwriter, and playwright Truman Capote, drawn entirely from his own words. Set in December 1975, it follows Capote as he sits alone in his New York apartment,  reflecting on his life and work in the aftermath of the publication of an unfinished scandalous memoir that alienated him from his peers and friends.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family, King Herod in Jesus Christ Superstar) will reprise his role as Capote, which he previously played on Broadway to critical acclaim. He is joined by Charlotte D’Amboise, who previously played opposite him in Tru at the House of the Redeemer in New York City earlier this year.

Tru is directed by Rob Ashford, who is joined in the creative team by costume designer Paul Farnsworth, costume designer Jaimal Odedra, lighting designer Jamie Platt, and sound designer Adam Cork.

Tru is playing at the Menier Chocolate Factory until 14 November.
