Harry Potter and the Cursed Child recently celebrated its 10th anniversary in the West End and announced a shift in its format from its original two-part production to a re-imagined one-part production, which will give it a run time of 2 hours and 55 minutes, and will deliver the entire story in a single performance. The intent is to make the show more accessible and allow audiences to experience the play through only a single visit and ticket. This is the version of the show currently performed around the world, including on Broadway.
The new cast for the one-part production includes Ethan Rouse as Albus Potter, Zoë Rainey as Ginny Potter, with Hasia Akwaboah playing Rose Granger-Weasley. Adam Jackson-Smith as Draco Malfoy and Bill Stanley as Scorpius Malfoy. They will join continuing cast members David Ricardo-Pearce as Harry Potter, Thomas Aldridge as Ron Weasley and Naana Agyei Ampadu as Hermione Granger.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a sequel to the globally beloved and best-selling Harry Potter series, written by J. K. Rowling and Jack Thorne, and directed by John Tiffany. Taking place nineteen years after Harry and his friends defeated Lord Voldemort, it follows Harry's son Albus as he joins Hogwarts, befriends the son of his father's old rival Draco Malfoy, and tries to find his own way outside his father's shadow.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is now booking until 5 September 2027.
