Autumn at the Young Vic

Young Vic Season It looks set to be a very exciting Autumn at the Young Vic, one of Off-West End’s smartest and starriest venues, located just along from the Old Vic at Waterloo.

Friday morning casting has been announced for their forthcoming productions of MEASURE FOR MEASURE, MACBETH, LA MUSICA and the 19th century, Swedish thriller, CREDITORS.

John Heffernan will play MACBETH opposite Anna Maxwell Martin as Lady Macbeth in Carrie Cracknell and Lucy Guerin's production of Shakespeare's tragedy this November.

The cast for Joe Hill-Gibbins' production of my favourite Shakespeare play MEASURE FOR MEASURE, opening this October, will include Paul Ready as Angelo and Zubin Varla will play the Duke alongside Romola Garai as Isabella. The cast also includes Hammed Animashaun, Tom Edden, Ivanno Jeremiah, John Mackay, Sarah Malin, Natalie Simpson, Cath Whitefield and Matthew Wynn.

Demand for tickets has already been so great that they’ve extended the run by a week before it’s even opened.

Emily Barclay and Sam Troughton return to the Young Vic in Jeff James' LA MUSICA and Jolyon Coy, Tom Rhys Harries and Gyuri Sarossy make up the cast of CREDITORS, directed by this year's Genesis Future Directors Award winner, Rikki Henry.

This is a venue operating at the very top of its game and no appreciation of the feast of theatre that London offers will be complete without a visit this autumn.
