The new play by Jamie Armitage will make its debut at the end of the year, following the successful run of An Interrogation , which sold out at Hampstead Theatre earlier this year.

A Ghost in Your Ear is a chilling and immersive new play that employs binaural sound technology developed in collaboration with Ben and Max Ringham.
An actor arrives in a sound-recording studio and records the audiobook of a ghost story. Audiences will wear headphones and be immersed in the auditory world of the show. A Ghost in Your Ear is intentionally being created to scare its audience so if you are of a nervous disposition, then caution is advised..
Jamie Armitage said today, “Hampstead Theatre was the ideal London home for my debut play An Interrogation and I am beyond excited to now be bringing my new show to the Downstairs venue. The intimacy of the space will be perfect for this horror play which uses binaural audio-technology to immerse the audience in the world of A Ghost in Your Ear. I feel especially fortunate to be collaborating with the legendary sound-designers Ben & Max Ringham as I have admired their pioneering work for years. My obsession with horror theatre started when I was 12 and saw The Woman in Black for the first time, so I cannot wait to share this new theatrical ghost story with audiences. I hope it scares them out of their wits…”
A Ghost in Your Ear will play at the Hampstead Theatre Downstairs from 6 December 2025 to 24 January 2026.
