For the very first time, Back to the Future: The Musical has released an image of the show's most iconic moment, the DeLorean finale, ahead of its UK tour opening in October.

DeLorean finale from BTTF tour

Along with the Phantom of the Opera's chandelier and Miss Saigon's helicopter, the flying DeLorean has become one of the most memorable set pieces in stage history. State of the art illusions, with dazzling special effects, video effects, and lighting and sound design, come together to create the magic of the unforgettable time travelling car soaring over the audience - a jaw-dropping moment for anyone seeing it for the first time.

Based on the 1985 sci-fi comedy, Back to the Future follows teenager Marty McFly, who's sent back to the 1950s when his eccentric scientist friend Doc Brown's time travel experiments go awry, forced to bring together the teenage versions of his parents to keep his own existence from being erased. The musical adaptation has become a global success, concluding its historic run at London's Adelphi Theatre in April 2026 after five years and almost 2000 performances. It is now set to embark on a UK tour from 8 October 2026, starting at the Bristol Hippodrome.

Australian rising star Axel Duffy will play the role of Marty McFly for the tour. Roger Bart will play the role of Doc Brown at the Bristol Hippodrome and Edinburgh Playhouse. Brian Conley will play the role of Doc Brown at the Milton Keynes Theatre. Further casting for the role of Doc Brown, and the remaining company, is to be announced.
