BACK TO THE FUTURE MUSICAL to close in the West End

The production, based on the 1985 film that starred Michal J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, is set to close in the West End ahead of its UK tour, which is scheduled to begin in October 2026.

After 5 years, 2,000 performances and 2.2 million dreamers, Back to the Future Musical will play its final performance at the Adelphi Theatre on 12 April 2026.
Written by Bob Gale, this thrilling stage adaptation features new music and lyrics by Emmy and Grammy Award winner Alan Silvestri and six-time Grammy winner Glen Ballard, as well as classic songs from the film like "The Power of Love". Back to the Future the Musical made its stage premiere at the Manchester Opera House in 2020, before transferring to the West End in 2021. The London production obtained multiple award wins, including the Olivier Award for Best New Musical. It was subsequently transferred to Broadway and, more recently, a North American tour.
Directed by Tony Award-winner John Rando, Back to the Future the Musical features set and costume design by Tim Hatley, choreography by Chris Bailey, illusions by Chris Fisher, lighting design by Tim Lutkin and Hugh Vanstone, sound by Gareth Owen and video design by Finn Ross. Musical supervision and arrangements are by Nick Finlow, with orchestrations by Ethan Popp and Bryan Crook, dance arrangements by David Chase, and casting by David Grindrod for Grindrod Burton Casting.
