BEETLEJUICE THE MUSICAL to close early in the West End

No reason has been given by the producers for why it's closing over three months earlier than scheduled. Beetlejuice the Musical made its highly anticipated West End transfer in May 2025, following three-smash hit runs on Broadway, and opened to rave reviews from critics, which makes this a bit of a surprise.

In this musical adaptation of Tim Burton's 1988 film, the wickedly funny bio-exorcist Beetlejuice sets out to help the recently deceased Barbara and Adam Maitland haunt their old house and scare off its new inhabitants, the Deetz family, only to quickly become obsessed with their cynical, death-obsessed teenage daughter Lydia Deetz. Off the back of the film's cult classic status and popularity among horror fans, Beetlejuice was developed into a musical that opened on Broadway in 2019 and has since toured nationally and internationally.

The West End cast includes David Fynn as Beetlejuice, Hannah Nordberg as Lydia Deetz, David Hunter as Adam Maitland, Chelsea Halfpenny as Barbara Maitland, Alasdair Harvey as Charles Deetz, Chasity Crisp as Maxine Dean / Juno, Richard Frame as Otho, Irvine Iqbal as Maxie Dean, Rachel Macdougall as Girl Scout, and Vanessa Aurora Sierra as Miss Argentina. Summer Strallen is currently stepping in for Aimie Atkinson as Delia Deetz until 3 November.

The production reunites the original Broadway creative team, with a book by Tony Award nominee Scott Brown and Tony and Emmy Award-nominee Anthony King, an original score (Music and Lyrics) by Tony Award-nominee Eddie Perfect, Choreography by Connor Gallagher , and Music Supervision, Orchestrations and Incidental Music by Kris Kukul. Tony Award winner Alex Timbers directs.

Beetlejuice the Musical will now play at the Prince Edward Theatre until 2 January 2027.
