Beverley Knight and Alexandra Burke to star in West End run of SISTER ACT THE MUSICAL

After an incredible performance at the Olivier Awards, SISTER ACT THE MUSICAL has announced a return to the West End next year!

Not only that, but Beverley Knight and Alexandra Burke will be playing the role of Deloris Van Cartier.

Nominated for an Olivier Award this year, Sister Act The Musical will play at the Dominion Theatre between 15 March to 31 August 2024.

After playing Deloris Van Cartier last summer to critical acclaim, Olivier Award winning performer Beverley Knight returns to the role from 15 March till the 8 June 2024. Musical theatre star and best-selling artist Alexandra Burke will then takeover the role from 10 June till 31 August 2024.

A stage adaptation of the iconic movie, Sister Act The Musical tells the story of a disco diva whose life takes an unexpected turn when she witnesses a murder, and must be hidden in the one place she won't be found - a convent! Disguised as a nun and under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own.

Directed by Bill Buckhurst, it features original music by Tony and 8-time Oscar winner Alan Menken (Disney's Aladdin and Enchanted) and lyrics by Glenn Slater. The show's other creatives include:

  • Book by Bill and Cheri Steinkellner
  • Additional book material by Douglas Carter
  • Choreography by Alistair David
  • Set and Costume Design by Morgan Large
  • Musical Direction by Neil MacDonald
  • Lighting Design by Tim Mitchell
  • Sound Design by Tom Marshall
  • Musical Supervision by Stephen Brooker
  • Casting by Stuart Burt
