This festive whodunnit spoofs classic detective stories with an original story starring legendary detective Sherlock Holmes - with a Christmas twist. It's Christmas in Victorian London, and performers are suddenly dropping dead in the West End. Scotland Yard rules out foul play, but Sherlock Holmes uncovers a sinister connection between the murders and the famous holiday song, The Twelve Days of Christmas.
Directed by Philip Breen, this hilarious comedy premiered at Birmingham Rep last year, opening to rave reviews from critics. It's created by Humphrey Ker and David Reed, original cast members of the hit comedy The Penny Dreadfuls stage show, radio series and series of ten radio plays. The full creative team includes songs by Tim Rice & Howard Goodall, Designer Mark Bailey, Lighting Designer Anna Watson, Sound Designer Luke Swaffield for Autograph Sound, Choreographer & Movement Director Georgina Lamb, Fight Director Renny Krupinski, and Illusions by Chris Fisher & Dr Will Houstoun.
Bo Poraj who plays Sherlock Holmes said: “This is one of the funniest scripts I have read in a long time," while Marc Antolin who plays Dr. Watson described the show as, “This is the Sherlock and Watson you know, but wrapped in tinsel, stuffed with jokes, and tied together with phenomenal songs."
Sherlock Holmes and the Twelve Days of Christmas will open in previews on 24 November 2026 and play until 17 January 2027, with a press night on 1 December 2026.
