Full cast to join Kenneth Branagh in KING LEAR revealed

The full cast and creative team have been announced for Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company's KING LEAR which will open in previews at Wyndham's Theatre on 21 October.

KING LEAR will perform at Wyndham's Theatre until 9 December before a transfer to New York in autumn 2024.

The cast and creative team of KING LEAR.

As previously announced, Kenneth Branagh will the title role of King Lear. He will be joined by:

  • Dylan Corbett-Bader as France
  • Eleanor de Rohan as Kent

  • Joseph Kloska as Gloucester
  • Corey Mylchreest as Edmund
  • Hughie O'Donnell as Cornwall
  • Caleb Odediah as Cornwall
  • Jessica Revell as Cordelia/The Fool

Joining Kenneth Branagh as Director, the creative team is made up of Jon Bausor (Set and Costume Designer), Lucy Skilbeck (Associate Director), Nina Dunn (Projection Designer), Paul Keogan (Lighting Designer), Ben and Max Ringham (Sound Designer and Composer), Aletta Collins (Choreographer), Lucy Bevan CDG and Emily Brockmann (Casting Directors), Bret Yount (Fight Director), Issy Snape and Michael Rouse (Assistant Directors) and Jim Leaver (Production Manager).

What is KING LEAR about?

KING LEAR is a tragedy based on the chronicle of a pre-Roman, Celtic king of Britain. In Shakespeare's play, Lear, intending to retire, stages a love test for his three daughters: he will portion his kingdom between them as dowries according to how much they profess to love him.
