Myles Frost to star in MJ THE MUSICAL in London

MJ The MusicalBroadway performer Myles Frost is returning to the role that earned him a Tony Award for the West End premiere of MJ THE MUSICAL.

Winner of Best Actor in a Musical at this year's Tony Awards, Frost will play the lead role of Michael Jackson. Further casting is to be confirmed.

Opening at the Prince Edward Theatre on 6 March 2024, MJ The Musical tells the story of the performer's 1992 Dangerous World Tour. Going beyond the singular moves and signature sound, it provides a rare look at the creative mind and collaborative spirit that catapulted Jackson to legendary status. A theatrical experience like no other, the show features many of his iconic songs, including Billie Jean, Beat It, Man in the Mirror, Thriller and Smooth Criminal.

With a book by two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage (Sweat), MJ The Musical will be directed and choreographed by two-time Tony Award winner and the Royal Ballet Associate Artist, Christoper Wheeldon OBE.

The creative team for MJ also includes Scenic Design by two-time Tony Award and two-time Emmy Award winner Derek McLane (Moulin Rouge! The Musical), Lighting Design by six-time Tony Award winner Natasha Katz (Once), Costume Design by Tony Award and Emmy Award winner Paul Tazewell (Hamilton), Sound Design by Tony Award and Olivier Award winning Gareth Owen (Come From Away), Projection Design by two- time Tony Award nominee Peter Nigrini (Dear Evan Hansen), and Hair & Wig Design by two-time Emmy Award nominee Charles LaPointe (The Color Purple). Musical Supervision is by Tony Award nominee David Holcenberg (Matilda), and the Orchestrations and Arrangements are by David Holcenberg and Tony Award winner Jason Michael Webb (The Color Purple).

Tickets go on general sale on 24 May 2023.
