A new company will join the production of Stranger Things: The First Shadow from November. Jack Christou (Matilda the Musical, RSC The Other Place) will take over the role of Henry Creel with Stewart Clarke (Les Misérables, Sondheim Theatre)as Dr Brenner, Avril Maponga (Witness for the Prosecution, London County Hall) as Patty Newby, Max Potter (A Monster Calls, Barn Theatre) as Bob Newby, Adam Wadsworth (The Merry Wives of Windsor, Shakespeare's Globe) as James Hopper Jr. and Edie Wright (Stranger Things: The First Shadow, 2024/25 cast) as Joyce Maldonado.
The original story by the Duffer Brothers, Jack Thorne, and Kate Trefry, Stranger Things: The First Shadow, is a thrilling new adventure that takes audiences back to the origins of the Stranger Things saga. Inspired by the hit Netflix series, this play thrusts audiences to 1959, where the Upside Down and the eerie forces reveal themselves to the town for the first time. Ahead of the highly anticipated fifth season of the hit Netflix series later this year, this play has won numerous accolades in London, and a production on Broadway opened earlier this year.
Stranger Things: The First Shadow is now booking through to 5 April 2026 at the Phoenix Theatre.
