Talawa Theatre's production embarks on a UK tour that kicks off later this month and includes a season in London early next year.

Here's our first look at Play On! in rehearsals.

A vibrant and joyful musical adaptation of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, Play On! transports the story to the lively 1940s New York jazz scene, infusing the classic tale with the rhythms and energy of swing music. The reimagined setting adds a fresh, dynamic twist to the timeless comedy.

The cast of Play On! includes Tsemaye Bob-Egbe (SIX The Musical) as Viola, Kori Hedgemon (Lovin’ Vegas) as Lady Liv, Earl Gregory (TINA- The Tina Turner Musical) as The Duke, Llewellyn Jamal (Get Up, Stand Up!) as Jester, Cameron Bernard Jones (Ain’t Too Proud) as Rev, Lifford Shillingford (Tarantino Live) as Sweets, Tanya Edwards (Sister Act The Musical) as Miss Mary, and Gleanne Purcell-Brown (Spamalot) as Ceecee.

Directed by Talawa's Artistic Director, Michael Buffong, Play On! was conceived by Sheldon Epps and has a book by Cheryl L. West. Buffong is joined on the creative team by choreographer Kenrick Sandy and musical supervisor Liam Godwin.

Play On! will play at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre from 28 January to 22 February 2025.
