Flyby was originally developed in 2025 by the National Theatre. It follows Daniel, played by Stuart Thompson, a brilliant but unpredictable engineer who disappears into the void, and Emily (Poppy Gilbert), a fiercely intelligent documentary filmmaker with a complicated past. As the narrative shifts between past and present, we discover the tangled forces that drive their passionate and combustible relationship.
The cast is completed by Gina Beck (Wicked, Apollo Victoria Theatre) as Amy Greenwood, Rupert Young (Dear Evan Hansen, Noel Coward Theatre) as Jonathan Jay, and Simbi Akande (Hamilton, Victoria Palace Theatre) as Grace Adams.
Joining Theo and Adam on the creative team are set designer Libby Todd, lighting designer Ben Jacobs, sound designer Kelsh Buckman-Drage, costume designer Eleanor Bull and musical director Ben Kubiak.
Flyby will play at the Southwark Playhouse Borough from 3 April to 16 May 2026.
