Into The Woods in London

Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s beloved and classic musical brings together fairy tale characters from the stories of the Brothers Grimm. Follow the Baker, the Baker’s Wife, the Witch, Jack, Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella and Rapunzel on a quest for the coveted happily ever after, and find out what happens when everyone gets exactly what they wished for and have to face the consequences of their actions. Combining a fantastic score, memorable storytelling and endearing characters with a dark and clever twist on the fairy tales we all know and love, Into the Woods has been revived over and over and even adapted into film.

Director Jordan Fein’s production of Sondheim’s most famous musical, performed at the Bridge Theatre, was the most nominated musical revival of the year at the Olivier Awards, with 11 nominations, of which it won two – Best Musical Revival and Best Lighting. Now audiences can experience the magic and wonder of Into the Woods all over again in the West End. Darkly humorous but heartfelt, with songs that will get stuck in your head, it features a brilliantly talented cast, including Kate Fleetwood as the Witch, and a jaw-dropping set design that will transport you into the world of the Brothers Grimm.

Book now and experience the fairy tales we all grew up with as you’ve never seen them before.

Into the Woods 2026

Excellent show and interesting venue. Didn't know what I bought when I purchased stall 1. Ok but not great Some outstanding voices and some just very good. Totally enjoyable however!

A great thought provoking spin

Very well acted great message. Lots to think about when we’re always so busy ‘wishing’ for things. Sometimes there are consequences to all we wish for.

You need to like Sondheim'smusic

The staging, production and singing were exceptional. Kudos to the cast! But - and this is a personal thing... I found the slightly atonal and discordant music of Sondheim difficult. Also the story is too intertwined with too many fairy tales so you kind of lose the thread of who is who doing what.

Wonderful show - the whole cast were superb

Absolutely worth all the time and effort getting to London from the West Country to see this fabulous show. What a treat. Probably not for very small children. I'm sure that older children would probably enjoy it, especially if they have been introduced to the more gruesome side of the fairly tales.

A great show performed by a great cast. But don't go expecting lots of catchy tunes like Andrew Lloyd webber or Oklahoma. There are 2 or 3 great songs but the music is never less than interesting. Sondheim fans will love it as did I

The show is a typical late- period Sondheim musical. High concept idea, wonderful lyrics, plenty of wit and jokes but few good songs. The production is terrific, brilliant lighting, sound and staging, great performances all round..

such a great show for people of all ages

I saw the original production of into the woods in 1988 with bernadette peters - at the time I was 19 and my head was full of dreams. Now, at 56 years old, I have faced loss and the challenges that come after "happily ever after." As such, the second act of this show resonated with me so deeply - this production was glorious - I really loved it.

Near the end some of the lighting on stage was direct into audience which was slightly distracting & maybe an issue with those with epilepsy. Although good view I ended up with crook in neck due to the seating height ( not able to have feet on ground) Brilliant performances despite understudies

We were in B2 &B3 and the lighting was blinding, it was extremely uncomfortable due to the intense blinding lights and terrible sight lines the lighting designer needs to know it is in acceptable to blind the audience in this way

Superb production and performance

This fabulous cast combined with the music of Sondheim would have made a great evening out, but combined with the superb lighting, sound, musicianship and the stunning set - it was a masterpiece and the best musical I have seen in a long time. Thank you.

Traditional producion proving the show works to this day in origianl format.

Brilliantly executed production with perfect fit performances, Sondheim fans will be delighted and people new to the show will be enchanted. The show garnered more laughs than I have experienced in the 10 or so previous productions of ITW that I have been lucky enough to see. The design quality for the woods was undoubtedly the best I have seen.
