Casting has been announced for the world premiere of Michael Longhurst's production of Ben Ockrent's new comedy, Relics, opening at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre this summer.

The cast of Relics. Headshots provided by production.

Written by Olivier Award nominee Ben Ockrent (Honey, Edmund The Magnificent) and directed by award-winning Michael Longhurst (Next to Normal, The Human Body, The Band's Visit), Relics follows four estranged siblings who reunite at their recently deceased mother's house: bulldozer Liz, people-pleaser Rob, impatient Michelle, and prodigal son Jonny. But as they set about dividing up their mother's possessions, they stumble in on an explosive family secret that threatens to undo everything they know about themselves and each other. In the wake of tragedy and uncertainty, will these four very different siblings be able to come together and move forward as a family?

Charly Clive (Rooster, The Lazarus Project), JJ Feild (Little Disasters, A Midsummer Night's Dream), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones, Miranda and Smack The Pony) and Sam Swainsbury (Mum, 2:22 A Ghost Story). The production marks a return to the stage for both Charly Clive, who has recently starred in Rooster on HBO opposite Steve Carrell, and Sally Phillips, who recently reprised her role as Shazza in Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy. JJ Feild also returns to the stage after starring in the latest Jack Ryan opposite John Krasinski. Sam Swainsbury was most recently in the touring production of 2.22 A Ghost Story.

The creative team includes Set & Costume Designer Joanna Scotcher, Lighting Designer Simisola Majekodunmi, Sound Designer Dan Balfour, Casting Director Anna Cooper CDG and Fight Director Bret Yount.

Ben Ockrent said, "Relics explores the fraught complexities of familial love and I can’t wait for audiences to meet the tender, funny and flawed family which Charly, JJ, Sally and Sam will serve up to them.”

Relics will open at the Lyric Hammersmith on 18 June, with a press night on 24 June.
