New cast announced for OH, MARY!

Joining Lolly Adefope (best known for the hit British sitcom Ghosts), who makes her West End debut as Mary Todd Lincoln, are Lucy Frederick (beloved Fringe veteran and seen onstage in A Christmas Carole at Southend Palace Theatre and Jack & the Beanstalk at Theatre Royal Stratford East) as Mary’s Chaperone, J.R. Ballantyne (Curtain’s at Wyndham’s Theatre, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the London Palladium, The BFG for the Royal Shakespeare Company) as Mary’s Husband’s Assistant, with Vinnie Heaven (best known as Nimble in HBO’s The Nevers, with theatre credits that include Richard II at the Bridge Theatre and Mother Courage and Her Children at Shakespeare’s Globe) as Mary’s Teacher and Syrus Lowe (Best of Enemies at the Young Vic and in the West End, The Inheritance at the Young Vic and in the West End, Saint Joan at the Donmar Warehouse, The Crucible at the Yard Theatre) as Mary’s Husband.

The current cast, which stars Jinkx Monsoon as Mary Todd Lincoln with Scott Karim as Mary's Husband, will have their final performance on Saturday 26 September.

Oh, Mary! reimagines the story of Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to the assassination of her husband - US president Abraham Lincoln. In this tongue-in-cheek take on history, Mary is a foul-tempered alcoholic, stuck in an unhappy marriage with the deeply closeted Abe, desperate to relive her glory days as a cabaret dancer.

Written by Cole Escola and directed by Sam Pinkleton, it premiered off-Broadway in January 2024, before a Broadway transfer to Broadway in July 2024, where it broke box office records and continues to play to sold out audiences. It had its West End premiere at Trafalgar Theatre on 3 December 2025 and won Best Entertainment or Comedy Play at this year’s Olivier Awards.

Oh, Mary! is booking at the Trafalgar Theatre until Saturday 2 January 2027.
