Originally developed in 2025 by the National Theatre, the new musical by Theo Jamieson will receive its London debut at the Southwark Playhouse for six weeks this Spring.

FLYBY, directed and co-created by Adam Lenson, fuses an intimate and exhilarating love story with the vast and endless loneliness of space. At the heart of the story is Daniel, a brilliant but unpredictable engineer who disappears into the void, and Emily, a fiercely intelligent documentary filmmaker with a complicated past. The musical will shift between past and present to uncover the tangled forces that drove Daniel there.
Starring in the production will be Poppy Gilbert (My Oxford Year, Netflix) alongside Stuart Thompson (Spring Awakening, Almeida Theatre) as Daniel. They will be joined by Gina Beck (Wicked, Apollo Victoria) as Amy Greenwood, Rupert Young (Dear Evan Hansen, Noel Coward Theatre) as Jonathan Jay, and Simbi Akande (Hamilton, Victoria Palace) as Grace Adams.
Joining Theo and Adam on the creative team are set designer Libby Todd and lighting designer Ben Jacobs.
FLYBY will play at the Southwark Playhouse Borough from 3 April - 16 May 2026.
