Cabaret is set in 1930s Berlin during the rise of the Nazis, where the English night club performer Sally Bowles works in Berlin’s notorious Kit Kat Club. It follows her relationship with the American writer Cliff Bradshaw, while boarding house owner Fraulein Schneider and her Jewish lover Herr Schultz struggle to navigate the growing dangers in Germany. It combines a sophisticated night club setting, gorgeous show tunes, and jaw-dropping costumes with a powerful social commentary on the political and cultural upheaval during its time.
Cabaret stars West End star Katie Hall as Sally Bowles and actor, presenter and Brit Award winner Matt Willis as the Emcee. They star alongside Baker Mukasa as Clifford Bradshaw, Ruthie Henshall as Fraulein Schneider, Robert Hands as Herr Schultz, Lucas Koch as Ernst Ludwig and Jessica Kirton as Fraulein Kost/Fritzie.
It is directed by Rebecca Frecknall, with set and costume design by Tom Scutt choreography by Julia Cheng, musical supervision by Jennifer Whyte and musical direction by Ben van Tienen.
