Hello, Dolly! revival is heading to the West End

Jerry Heran-Michael Stewart’s Broadway musical HELLO, DOLLY is being revived and heading to the West End next summer at the London Palladium. The new production will be revived by Dominic Cooke and initial casting includes Imelda Staunton, Andy Nyman, Jenna Russell, Tyrone Huntley and Harry Hepple.

Next To Normal to transfer to the West End

Hot on the heels of more exciting West End openings, Donmar Warehouse’s sold-out summer production of NEXT TO NORMAL announces its heading to the West End. For a strictly limited season at the Wyndham’s Theatre from June 2024, NEXT TO NORMAL is a powerful critically acclaimed production exploring family, illness, loss and grief.

The West End will see the closure of Chichester Festival Theatre’s sublime production of CRAZY FOR YOU earlier than initially anticipated. Opening at the Gillian Lynne Theatre earlier this year to rave reviews such as "Everything in this spellbinding show is joyous" (i News) and “A daft, dizzying musical that revels in the joy of theatre” (The Financial Times) - don’t miss your chance to see this show before the end of 2023!

Cast for Hadestown West End premiere announced

Undoubtedly one of the most highly anticipated new shows heading to the West End in 2024 is HADESTOWN. The show which has won 8 Tony Awards on Broadway opens at the Lyric Theatre in February 2024. The West End cast for HADESTOWN includes Dónal Finn, Grace Hodgett Young, Zachary James, Melaine La Barrie, and Gloria Onitiri.

Sheridan Smith to star in new musical

Sheridan Smith, who earlier this year had incredible success with Shirley Valentine has announced she will be back in town in a brand new musical, OPENING NIGHT. Written by Rufus Wainwright and multi-award winning director Ivo van Hove, this new musical is based on a 1970s US psychological movie of the same name. It’s heading to the Gielgud Theatre for a limited run and we think it’ll be extremely popular with audiences!

Noises Off

Michael Frayn’s classic comedy play has been playing a limited season at the Theatre Royal Haymarket that concludes on the 16 December. NOISES OFF tells the story of an ill-fated touring theatre company as they attempt to produce a play called Nothing On. The production comes packed with a stellar cast including Felicity Kendal, Lindsay Posner, Jonathan Coy and Alexander Hanson.

Frank and Percy

Featuring two legendary British actors, FRANK AND PERCY is a touching play which explores an unexpected relationship that develops between two very different men. Ian McKellen and Roger Allam star in this comedy play at The Other Palace.

Lyonesse

A dazzling new play by Penelope Skinner, LYONESSE’s limited run at the Harold Pinter Theatre concludes in December. Starring Kristin Scott Thomas and Lily James, this play is about the horrors women face at work and at home. LYONESSE contains entertaining social satire and some fine acting from its cast so it's best to catch this one before it's too late!

Shows opening in December

Whilst shows are closing in December, there are also some new productions heading into London including Stranger Things: The First Shadow and The Motive and the Cue. The Witches

Following in the footsteps of such productions like Matilda and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, THE WITCHES is the latest Roald Dahl story that’s transferred from page to stage in an exciting production at the National Theatre. Brought to the stage by Lucky Kirkwood and Dave Malloy, this production is quite simply an absolute zinger.

The Mongol Khan
