Rehearsal photos have been released for the West End production of Oh, Mary! at the Trafalgar Theatre, where Catherine Tate will be taking on the role of Mary Todd Lincoln from 27 April 2026.
Catherine Tate and Scott Karim in Oh, Mary!.
This off-beat, outrageous dark comedy reimagines the story of Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to the assassination of her husband - formerly US president Abraham Lincoln. In this tongue-in-cheek take on history, Mary is a foul-tempered alcoholic, stuck in an unhappy marriage with the deeply closeted Abe, desperate to relive her glory days as a cabaret dancer.
Oh, Mary! won Best Entertainment or Comedy Play at the 2026 Olivier Awards. It has also won a Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Play (Cole Escola) and Best Direction of a Play (Sam Pinkleton), Drama League Awards for Outstanding Play and Outstanding Direction of a Play, as well as a special citation from the New York Drama Critics’ Circle. It was named a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
