Written by Tom Wright and directed by Kiln Theatre's Artistic Director Amit Sharma, Please Please Me will make its World Premiere next month.
The cast of Please Please Me. Headshots provided by production.
Sharma directs Calam Lynch (Ghosts, Abbey Dublin) as Brian, Noah Ritter (Running Man, Paramount Picture) as John, William Robinson (Britannicus, Lyric Hammersmith) as Peter/Mike, Arthur Wilson (Here There Are Blueberries, Tectonic Theatre) as Geoffrey/Harry, and Eleanor Worthington-Cox (Mary Page Marlowe, Old Vic) as Cynthia/Cilla.
The new play shares the electrifying story of the hidden struggles of Brian Epstein – the unsung, gay legend and ‘Fifth Beatle’. Please Please Me steps into the Cavern Club as he discovers more than just a band - he finds his life's calling. Beyond the spotlight of making the Fab Four the most famous group on earth, we will witness how he wrestles with secrets, longing, and love.
The creative team for the production includes Set and Costume Designer Tom Piper, Co-Costume Designer Deborah Andrews, Lighting Designer Rory Beaton, Composer and Sound Designer David Shrubsole, Movement Director Jess Williams, Casting Director Amy Ball CDG, Associate Sound Designer and Production Sound Engineer Chris Simpson, Assistant Director Hetty Hodgson, Production Manager Pam Nichol, and Wigs, Hair & Make-Up Supervisor Sharon Pearson.
Please Please Me will play at the Kiln Theatre from 16 April to 29 May 2026.
