Cast announced for A RAISIN IN THE SUN at Lyric Hammersmith

Lorraine Hansberry's groundbreaking classic is being brought to the stage by the pioneering theatre company Headlong later this year.

The cast and creative team have been announced for A Raisin in the Sun which heads to the Lyric Hammersmith 8 October - 2 November as part of a limited UK tour.
Tinuke Craig (The Color Purple) directs Joséphine-Fransilja Brookman (High Times and Dirty Monsters) as Beneatha, Cash Holland (A Streetcar Named Desire) as Ruth, Solomon Israel (Jitney) as Walter Lee and Jonah Russell (Arms and the Man) as Karl.
Further casting will be announced soon, including sets of local children who will alternate the role of Travis.
Known for breaking barriers as the first play by a Black woman on Broadway, A Raisin in the Sun is a classic family drama full of humour and heart that remains relevant and powerful in a world still divided by inequality.
