THE TRUTH adds extra performance due to popular demand

Florian Zeller's hit summer comedy The Truth, currently playing at the Apollo Theatre, has added an extra matinee performance due to huge popular demand.

The Truth tells the story of two married couples caught in a tangled web of adultery and deception. Michel, a middle-aged businessman, is married to Laurence, but has been having a seven month affair with Alice, the wife of his best friend Paul. things come to a head when the couples spend a night away in a hotel. Laurence grows suspicious, and Michel becomes paranoid that Paul knows about the affair. In between drinks and tennis matches and loaded conversations, the question of who knows what brings these characters into a sweltering climax of paranoia and manipulation.

Packed with Zeller’s trademark psychological insight and biting humour, this new staging of The Truth stars Tony Award-nominated Stephen Mangan (BBC 1, The Split ) returning to the London stage, alongside comedy icon Ardal O’Hanlon (Channel 4, Father Ted; Netflix, How To Get To Heaven From Belfast), Sarah Hadland (BBC 1, Miranda; Strictly Come Dancing; ITV, The Job Lot) and double Olivier Award-winner Janie Dee —four of the UK and Ireland’s most beloved stage and screen performers.

This wickedly funny and elegantly crafted production is translated by Christopher Hampton and directed by Lindsay Posner (A View From the Bridge, Noises Off), with set and costume design by Lizzie Clachlan. It opened to wide-spread critical acclaim, praised as "a sleek, satisfying and proper West End night out" by The Standard. Read our review of The Truth.

The Truth is playing for a strictly limited 14-week season until Saturday, 12 September 2026, with an additional performance now added at 4.30pm on 20 August.
