New cast for War Horse at the New London Theatre

War Horse at the New London Theatre The multi-award winning National Theatre production of Michael Morpurgo’s War Horse has announced the brand new cast that will head-up the sell-out West End show at the New London Theatre.

The new cast of 12 puppeteers and 36 actors includes, Adam Henderson Scott, Ken Bradshaw, Adrian Christopher, Emma Thornett, Lowri Walton, James Backway, Phillip Bertioli, Matthew Churcher, Clare Louise Connolly, Drew Dillon, James Duncan, Nick Figgis, Scarlet Wilderink, Patrick Fleming, Alasdair Craig, Simon Wolfe, Harry De Moraville, Keiran Flynn, Alan Francis, Ian Houghton, Mark Jackson, Simon Jenkins, Jamie Lee-Morgan, Nyron Levy, Colm Gormley, Dominic Hodson, Kate Marlais, Shaun McCourt, Chris Milford, Gary Mitchinson, Thomas Mittleheuser, Ben Murray, Tony McGeever, Jayne Mckenna, Markus Schabbing, Alisdair Simpson, James Alexander Taylor and Sam Willmott.

War Horse has also announced that it has extended the booking period at the New London Theatre until 13 February 2016. This will bring the Olivier Award-winning production into its ninth year on the West End.

Directed by Tom Morris and Marianne Elliot, War Horse is set amongst the horrors of the First World War, and tells the moving story of Joey, young Albert’s treasured horse, sold to the military and forced onto the frontline battlefields in France. Albert then embarks on a dangerous journey to bring his beloved horse back from the war, but the cruel twists of fate have transported Joey over to the enemy, and into the very heart of the fighting in no man’s land.

Now seen by over six million people worldwide, War Horse features ingenious puppetry by the South African based Handspring Puppet Company. These breathtaking puppets help to bring the horses and numerous other animals to living, breathing life on stage. War Horse is designed by Rae Smith, with lighting by Paule Constable (the new associate artist at the National Theatre), choreography is by Toby Sedgwick, video design by Mark Grimmer and Leo Warner, music by Adrian Sutton, sound design by Christopher Shutt and songs created by John Tams.

War Horse is currently booking at the New London Theatre through to 13 February 2016.
