Ride The Cyclone in London
Five teenagers, members of the St Cassian High chamber choir, take a trip to the Wonderville Travelling Fairground, where they ride the faulty Cyclone rollercoaster and are thrown to their deaths after their cart is derailed. Finding themselves suspended in limbo between life and death, the teens encounter Wonderville's mechanical fortune teller, The Amazing Karnak, who offers them the chance to return to the world of the living - but only one of them. One by one, they step into the spotlight to prove why they deserve that second chance over the others.
First premiering as a cabaret in 2008, Ride the Cyclone broke Southwark Playhouse's record of most tickets sold within a 24-hour period after going on sale in 2025. After a critically acclaimed and sold-out run last year, it returns with a darkly comic, unexpectedly moving story told over a thrilling 90 minutes. With a book, music & lyrics by Jacob Richmond & Brooke Maxwell, with direction and choreography by Lizzi Gee, it stars the fabulous Divina De Campo, celebrated British drag queen and runner-up on the first series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK. Uproariously tongue-in-cheek, and tragic and comic in equal measure, Ride the Cyclone is filled with catchy sounds and unforgettable characters.
