Sea Witch in London

In this spell-binding new musical, we learn the origin story of the scheming sea witch from The Little Mermaid - and it isn't all you'd expect. Based on the 2018 young adult novel by Sarah Henning, this retelling introduces us to Evie, a young witch who is an outcast in her magic-fearing kingdom, mourning the loss of her best friend. When she meets a mermaid turned human searching for a way to win a prince's love, Evie is pulled into a world of magic, love, and betrayal that will change her forever.

We love a good villain origin story, especially one with a twist. In this haunting, magical musical, we see a new side to the dreaded sea witch from the popular fairy tale. Created by Kristopher Russell and Michael David Glover with Dean Lee, and choreographed by Janet Jackson, the show features music and lyrics by Segun Fawole, with beautiful original songs such as “My World”, “Homeland”, and “There's a Light”, all which help bring Evie's tragic story to life. No idea what to expect but enjoyed it

Had no idea what the shoe was about, only booked it a few hours before but glad we did. Performance was very good, very talented singers and choreographed very well (a few exceptional dancers). I’d have liked more dialogue to aid the story telling but aside from that a thoroughly enjoyable event. My only gripe is that up in the balcony the view of the rear of the stage was restricted and sometimes who weren’t sure which character was singing, perhaps that should have been noted on the tickets. 9/10

A musical piece of art extremely well performed.

A very well performed musical with excellent voices. I thought Amy as Anna met was amazing, she sang with such power and expression. One for everyone that like a good original songs.

Definitely recommend

I definitely recommend seeing the show. The dancing and the singing are particularly amazing! As someone who is really into musicals, I came here with high expectations and was not disappointed. Also, I think this show is suitable for more or less any audience: definitely suitable for children (Disney-like vibes) but also for older audiences or people who have never seen a musical before!
