The Illusionist in London

A new musical is forthcoming from legendary theatre-maker Andrew Lloyd Webber. The show is inspired by Steven Millhauser's story Eisenheim the Illusionist, which was adapted into a film in 2006, though the musical is planned to go in a different direction from the original. Set in Vienna in the 1900s, it follows a magician named Eisenheim who has caused an uproar throughout the city through his apparent gift for summoning and communicating with the souls of the dead.

The Illusionist is produced by Michael Harrison (Sunset, Evita) and features a book written by Academy Award‑winning screenwriter Chris Terrio (Argo, Justice League), with lyrics by singer‑songwriter Bruno Major. Fans of Lloyd Webber's illustrious musical career can look forward to yet another blockbuster musical filled with spectacle, drama, and, of course, a score that will stay with you for years to come.
