Ballet Preljocaj - Snow White in London
It’s been seven years since Ballet Preljocaj performed their Snow White at Sadler’s Wells. Continuing his exploration of fairytales, the daring contemporary choreographer Angelin Preljocaj turns his attention to a traditional Chinese tale.
A traveller takes shelter from the rain in a temple and soon finds himself enchanted by one of the women depicted in a painting on the wall.
La Fresque (“The painting on the wall” in French) features costumes designed by “couture’s rebellious outside” (The Guardian), the late Azzedine Alaïa, a haunting set by Preljocaj’s regular collaborator Constance Guisset and music from Nicolas Godin, co-founder of the group Air.
