The Creakers - The Story

So the story goes like this. Have you ever wondered what you would do if you woke up and all the grown-ups had disappeared? When it happens one strange morning to the children of the town of Whiffington, it takes them by surprise.

It all seems like great fun at first but the reluctant hero Lucy soon realises she wants her parents back and nothing is going to stop her. She sets off with her friends Norman and Ella on an extraordinary adventure into an upside down, back-to-front, inside-out new world underneath her bed, where she begins to solve the mystery of a lifetime. Will she find her mum? This is the world of The Creakers, and it’s very odd indeed.

Expect shocks, scares and surprises, silliness, a load of sticky stinky creatures and a feast of rocking new songs by McFly’s Tom Fletcher, songwriter and author (Christmasaurus, Space Band, The Danger Gang). Welcome to the world of The Woleb, a place where it’s often those who are the most different who make the biggest difference.

This new musical adaptation is directed and choreographed by Theatre Royal Plymouth’s Associate Director, Tom Jackson Greaves (Whistle Down The Wind, Priscilla Queen of the Desert), billed as a joyous, hilarious, epic adventure into a weird new world.

The book is by Miranda Larson (Friendsical, Christmasaurus, Angelina Ballerina), based on Tom Fletcher’s beloved best-selling children’s book. Additional compositions come from McFly’s Danny Jones and Dougie Poynter, the fun is co-written with Steve Battelle and the Orchestrations are by Steve Sidwell. The show is produced by Impossible Producing, Smith & Brant Theatricals, Gavin Kalin Productions and Theatre Royal Plymouth.
