Di and Viv and Rose in London

Di and Viv and Rose – Unmissable British comedy

This renowned production of Amelia Bullmore's smash hit comedy is directed to perfection by Anna Mackmin, previewing from 22nd January 2015 and opening on 29th January. There's a talented cast including Samantha Spiro as Viv and Jenna Russell as Rose. And Tamzin Outhwaite plays Di for the first eight weeks of the run.

Production is by Tobias Round and Nick Frankfort on behalf of CMP Ltd, plus the Hampstead theatre's own Greg Ripley-Duggan. Scarlett Mackmin is responsible for the choreography, Paul Wills for the design, Oliver Fenwick for the lighting and Simon Baker for the sound.

Di and Viv and Rose - The story

When three eighteen year old women join forces in 1983, living in a shared house while at a northern university, a long and enduring friendship is forged. Life is intense, an endless round of working hard and playing even harder. As a team, they're invincible... or that's how they feel.

Rose, whose stepfather owns the house they share, is an art history student who adores sleeping around, a happy go lucky type with a charming innocence. Di is a lesbian, loves sport and studies business. Earnest Viv is a conscientious sociology student with an enviable work ethic, dedicated and serious. On the surface, they couldn't be more different. But that's the point: despite eventually living far apart, embarking on very different careers and everything else life throws at them, their solidarity survives, even if the balance is sometimes precarious. Friendship is often a rocky road. But it's worth travelling.

In a thoughtful story that lights up the stage with wit, wisdom and humour, this super comedy explores the nature of friendship, life and their profound effects on one another.

The playwright has created a bunch of genuinely likeable and believable characters, and the dialogue is wonderfully funny. The story is warm and charming, resulting in a play set for a big West End welcome. With great reviews under its belt and a timeless story that just keeps on giving, it's lovely stuff.

As The Telegraph said, the play “asked hard questions but also made Charles Spencer cry with laughter.” That's what we call a great recommendation. Don't miss it!

A No Go Show

Got a phone call a couple of weeks go to say the show would not be on when I had booked to see it!!! Had to rebook another show as we had already booked our hotel and time away - most inconvenient.

Di and Viv and Rose Review

Thought this show was superb, funny, sad, a bit of bad language but was all in context and not in bad taste, just hilarious. the 3 actresses were great, would recommend this to any of my friends, ladies over 40 would most appreciate the life experiences the characters face.

friendship bonds

This is a pyoignant, funny and heartbeaking story of three unlikely people who form inextricable bonds of friendship as young students... and check in with each other's joys and sorrows as their lives unfold. The acting of all three is superb not to mention some amazing acrobatics.. The dance sequence alone is worth the price of admission. Don't miss this play - it will entwine itself in your hearts and memories for a long time after the final curtain. rge bonds of friendship sharing as students

Dissapointed

First, it should have had a minimum age on it as "Fuck" was used continuously and the C U N T wordwas also used. Far from being a comedy it was rather depressing
