La Petite Soirée premières in London’s West End this winter for 11 weeks of fun, an all-inclusive cabaret celebration. Brought to you by Brett Haylock, Mark Rubenstein and Mick Perrin, this hour-long show is inspired by its adult equivalent La Soirée. The adult cabaret last played at the London Wonderground’s Spiegeltent and was awarded the highest accolade in the British theatre calendar – an Olivier award for Best Entertainment in 2015. Now the same production team are turning their attention to a whole new audience, ready to dazzle and delight audiences of all ages this Christmas.
Playing on Saturday afternoons throughout the festive period, La Petite Soirée promises all the daring tricks and astonishing acrobatics of its parent production, but in a setting that children and adults alike can enjoy. Suitable from ages 8 – 80, the show is the perfect introduction for newcomers to the cabaret scene in a city that is renowned for producing world-class, global talent. Whether it be the virtuosic, multi-lingual tones of Meow Meow, the whirlwind of twirling energy that is Jess Love, the pioneering cabaret artist Ursula Martinez, or any of the other exceptional artists that contribute to the La Soirée family, La Petite Soirée is guaranteed to showcase a snippet of cabaret talent like no other.
The production comes to the Aldwych Theatre and officially launches the premises after extensive renovations following the closure of Olivier-Award winning musical Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. This centrally located West End Theatre provides the perfect highlight to top off a day of London sightseeing, family fun or pre-holiday shopping – La Petite Soirée is the perfect afternoon treat for all the family to enjoy. It combines the best of London with internationally acclaimed performers, a true celebration of global cabaret at its absolute best.
The beauty of this show is that it opens up a whole new world of performance for an audience of all ages, showcasing talents that are often resigned to circus big tops or hidden underground locations. The London Wonderground is spreading its wings and stretching into the West End in an unmissable event for a limited time only, with extra performances around the Christmas period. La Petite Soirée is the perfect holiday activity to get out the house with loved ones and treat the family for a festive season that won’t easily be forgotten.
A brand-new show, a brand-new audience and a guarantee to be astounded – if La Petite Soirée is half as good as its predecessor, it will make for an unbelievable hour-long afternoon activity. Performances are limited, so book those tickets now or risk missing out on the London theatrical event of the season!
