The new British musical, which made its debut in a sold-out run at the Chichester Festival Theatre last summer, plays for a limited season at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.

Mark Addy and Jenna Russell star as Harold and Maureen Fry in The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, a production based on the best-selling novel by Rachel Joyce, with music and lyrics by Passenger. Katy Rudd directs.
Joining them are Craig Armstrong, Jenna Boyd, Daniel Crossley, Nell Martin, Nicole Nyarambi, Peter Polycarpou, Gleanne Purcell-Brown, Ashley Samuels, Maggie Service, Madeleine Worrall, Timo Tatzber, with Gemma Atkins, Olivia Foster -Browne, Ediz Mahmut, and Edwin Ray as Swings.
The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry tells a moving story of a recently retired man who receives a letter from an old friend and heads out to post his reply, but keeps walking. From South Devon to Berwick upon Tweed, Harold Fry reflects on his past, reconnects with life, and discovers the healing power of hope and redemption.
The novel was first published in 2012 and won the UK National Book Award for New Writer of the Year. It sold thousands of copies across the world and was adapted into a film in 2023, which starred Jim Broadbent and Penelope Wilton. The run at Chichester Festival obtained critical acclaim with The Times hailing it as a "pitch-perfect musical!".
The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry will play until 18 April 2026.
