About the Adelphi Theatre

The Adelphi Theatre celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2006. The current venue is the fourth on this part of The Strand, and it has changed names seven times... so far! It’s haunted by the ghost of William Terris, a celebrated actor who was fatally stabbed by his jealous colleague Richard Prince, dying in his leading lady’s arms while uttering the words ‘I’ll be back’. Past shows at the Adelphi Theatre include The Bodyguard, Made in Dagenham, Kinky Boots, Bumblescratch, and Waitress.
