Full Casting Announced For STEPHEN SONDHEIM’S OLD FRIENDS Following on from last year's award-winning sell-out concert of the same name, full casting has been announced for STEPHEN SONDHEIM'S OLD FRIENDS. The 16-week celebration at the Gielgud Theatre opens on 16 September 2023.

New names to the line-up are Haydn Gwynne, Damian Humbley, Bradley Jaden, Gavin Lee and Jason Pennycooke. They will join Broadway Legends Bernadette Peters and Lea Salonga alongside Christine Allado, Janie Dee, Bonnie Langford, Joanna Riding, Jeremy Secomb, Jac Yarrow, Marley Fenton and Beatrice Penny-Touré.

The company also includes Harry Apps, Bella Brown and Monique Young, completing a cast that encompasses the best of West End and Broadway.

Directed by multi-award winners, Matthew Bourne and Julia McKenzie, they will be joined by choreographer Stephen Mear. Music will be conducted by Alfonso Casado Trigo, and musical supervision by Stephen Brooker.

The production celebrates the life and work of the great Stephen Sondheim. It is a fitting tribute to the man who changed musical theatre forever. Winner of the Best Theatre Event at the 2023 WhatsOnStage Awards, it sold out within a couple of hours last year leaving thousands of disappointed fans unable to get tickets.
