Albee's 1962 play follows married couple Martha and George, who live on an American college campus. When they invite new professor Nick and his wife Honey to their home for some after-party drinks, the young couple finds themselves pulled into Martha and George's toxic games, sending the night spiralling towards a brutal confrontation with reality.
Joining two-time Emmy and Golden Globe winner Gillian Anderson (X-Files, The Crown) and Tony winner Billy Crudup (Apple TV+'s The Morning Show) as Martha and George are Josh Dylan (Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again, The End of the F***ing World, Noughts + Crosses) as Nick and Phoebe Horn (Tom Stoppard’s Rock ‘n’ Roll, Sam Mendes’ production of The Motive and the Cue, and Simon Godwin’s Much Ado About Nothing at the National Theatre) as Honey.
Joining the company as understudies are Alex Cartuson (Nick), Jessica Kirton (Martha), Georgia Miles (Honey) and Simon Willmont (George).
The creative team includes designer Miriam Buether, lighting designer James Farncombe, sound designer Ian Dickinson, casting directors Jim Carnahan and Liz Fraser, movement and intimacy director Ingrid Mackinnon, voice and dialect coach Charmian Hoare and fight director Sam Lyon-Behan.
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? will play at @sohoplace from 21st September to 19th December.
