Set in the Bains' corner shop in Wolverhampton and against the backdrop of a changing 20th century, Marriage Material explores the tensions, ambitions and legacy of a Punjabi family.
Directed by Iqbal Khan, the cast includes Tommy Belshaw as Jim/Bill, Jaz Singh Deol as Mr Bains/Arjan, Anoushka Deshmukh as Surinder, Celeste Dodwell as Claire/Miss Flanagan, Avita Jay as Mrs Bains, Kiran Landa as Kamaljit, Omar Malik as Ranjit/Tanvir, Irfan Shamji as Dhanda. Marriage Material plays at the Lyric Hammersmith until 21 June 2025 before it transfers to the Birmingham Rep where it plays from 25 June - 5 July 2025.
