Full cast announced for West End production of OEDIPUS

The new adaptation of the production by Robert Icke heads into the West End's Wyndhams Theatre for a strictly limited run, kicking off next month!

The full cast has been announced for Oedipus.

Joining the previously announced Mark Strong (Oedipus) and Lesley Manville (Jocasta) are Samuel Brewer (Frankenstein, Parkwood Theatre) as Teiresias, Michael Gould (The Cherry Orchard, Donmar Warehouse as Creon, Sara Hazemi (The Cherry Orchard, Donmar Warehouse) as Lichas/Understudy Antigone, Gary McDonald (Hardtime Pressure, Royal Court Theatre as Driver, Bhasker Patel (The Vote, Donmar Warehouse) as Corin, Phia Saban as Antigone, Jordan Scowen (The History Boys, Wolverhampton Grand Theatre as Eteocles, June Watson (The Cherry Orchard, Donmar Warehouse) as Merope and James Wilbraham as Polyneices.

Completing the cast is Jim Creighton (The Suspicions of Mr.Whicher Watermill Theatre) as Ensemble/Understudy Oedipus & Creon), Derek Elroy (One Man Two Governors, The National Theatre) as Ensemble/Understudy Corin, Teiresias & Driver, Celia Nelson (Dear Octopus, National Theatre) as Ensemble/ Understudy Jocasta & Merope and Jake Rory as Ensemble/Understudy Polyneices, Eteocles & Lichas.

After his revolatory production of Oresteia, Robert Icke reimagines another Ancient Greek tragedy, delivering the secrets of the past bursting into the present this Autumn.

Oedipus will run at the Wyndham's Theatre from 4 October - 4 January 2025.
