PADDINGTON THE MUSICAL extends until 2028 following seven Olivier wins

Paddington the Musical, which won seven awards at the 2026 Olivier Awards on Sunday 12th April, has announced it will be extending its run at the Savoy Theatre until 13th February 2028.

About Paddington the Musical
Based on the beloved books by Michael Bond, Paddington tells the story of a Peruvian bear who arrives at Paddington Station in London and is taken in by the Brown family, inevitably getting into mischief as he makes London his new home. Paddington the Musical is directed by Luke Sheppard, with original music and lyrics by Tom Fletcher, and a book by Jessica Swale.

The Olivier Awards
Last night, Paddington the Musical won a staggering seven Olivier Awards: Best New Musical, Best Actor in a Musical for James Hameed and Arti Shah, Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical for Tom Edden, Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical for Victoria Hamilton-Barritt, Best Director for Luke Sheppard, Best Costume Design for Gabriella Slade and Tahra Zafar, and Best Set Design for Tom Pye and Ash J Woodward.
The cast
Paddington himself is played by James Hameed (Paddington off-stage performer and remote puppeteer) and Arti Shah (Paddington on-stage performer). The rest of the cast includes Victoria Hamilton-Barritt (Millicent Clyde), Tom Edden (Mr Curry), Timi Akinyosade (Tony), Amy Booth-Steel (Lady Sloane), Tarinn Callender (Grant), Delilah Bennett-Cardy (Judy Brown), Adrian Der Gregorian (Mr Brown), Brenda Edwards (Tanya), Amy Ellen Richardson (Mrs Brown), Teddy Kempner (Mr Gruber), and Bonnie Langford (Mrs Bird), with the role of Jonathan Brown being shared by Joseph Bramley, Leo Collon, Stevie Hare and Jasper Rowse.
The creative team
The creative team includes Matt Brind as musical supervisor, orchestrator and arranger, Ellen Kane as choreographer, Tom Pye as scenic designer, Gabriella Slade as costume designer, Neil Austin as lighting designer, Gareth Owen as sound designer, and Ash J Woodward as video designer and animator.
The team responsible for the bear includes Tahra Zafar (Paddington bear designer), Audrey Brisson (Bear physicality associate director), Phill Woodfine (remote puppetry coach), and Annabelle Davis (Paddington bear casting director).
