Olivier Awards 2026: Full list of winners announced

Shehrazade Zafar-Arif 13 April, 2026, 06:00

Tonight was the biggest night in theatre, with the 50th annual Olivier Awards taking place at the Royal Albert Hall, hosted by Nick Mohammed (Ted Lasso).

The star-studded evening featured a dazzling mix of presenters and a glorious array of performances from some of the biggest musicals in the West End. We were treated to performances of 'Masquerade' and 'The Phantom of the Opera' from The Phantom of the Opera, celebrating its 40th anniversary; 'Marmalade' from Paddington the Musical; a heartrending rendition of 'Don't Cry For Me, Argentina' from Evita by Rachel Zegler; 'First Midnight' from Into the Woods; 'Independently Owned' from Shucked by Georgina Onuorah; 'We Can Do It' and 'I Wanna Be a Producer' from The Producers; 'Keep On Walking, Mr Fry' from Jenna Boyd, Mark Addy, and the cast of The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry; and finally a rendition of 'For Good' from Emma Kingston and Zizi Strallen with the cast of Wicked, celebrating its 20th anniversary.

It was also an opportunity to highlight some of the issues dear to the theatre industry, such as the importance of accessibility to the arts, combating funding cuts, and the crucial role played by local theatres, without whom many big shows would never have made it to the West End.

The show also looked back on some of the best moments from past Olivier Awards, as well as paid tribute to all those within the theatre community who have passed away in the last year.

Andrew Lloyd Webber also presented the Special Award to Dame Elaine Paige for her sixty years of extraordinary accomplishments in musical theatre.

The biggest winner of the night was Paddington the Musical, who walked away with seven (!) Olivier Awards for Best New Musical, Best Actor in a Musical for James Hameed and Arti Shah (whose acceptance speeches brought many in the audience to tears), Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical for Tom Edden, Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical for Victoria Hamilton-Barritt, Best Director for Luke Sheppard, Best Costume Design for Gabriella Slade and Tahra Zafar, and Best Set Design for Tom Pye and Ash J Woodward.
