The much-loved staple of British children’s literature has appeared in books, television, film, and on the shelves of toy stores, and now Luke Sheppard brings to life the story of a Peruvian bear searching for a home in London on the West End stage, with this brand new musical full of original songs.

What is Paddington: The Musical about?
Paddington Bear first appeared in the 1950s children’s books by Michael Bond and has since become somewhat of a cultural icon. The charmingly polite bespectacled bear with his iconic coat and hat and his love for marmalade sandwiches has won hearts all around Britain.
His story begins with being found at Paddington Station by the Brown family, having arrived in London from Peru in search of a home. His innocent curiosity means he is constantly getting into trouble, while also making new and unlikely friends along the way, the perfect recipe for an unforgettable adventure.
Paddington: The Musical is directed by Luke Sheppard, with original music and lyrics by Tom Fletcher, and a book by Jessica Swale. It will hit the stage at the Savoy Theatre on November 1st. A word of caution with regard to people who are light sensitive or of a nervous disposition, we didn't see any signage to warn of the sudden light explosion. It didn't lessen our enjoyment but I would have put my darker glasses on if I'd been aware.

Wonderful showGood view of the stage. Would suggest to others to minimise what you take in the way of handbag /coat …. Need to clear area around feet to allow for fellow theatre goers in and out of seats. Paddington was wonderful, great music and such enthusiasm from all the cast. We’d highly recommend

Matinee Show for PaddingtonFantastic show and one of the best I’ve seen in London, but why did the doors open only 30mins before the performance? Quite cramped in the Upper Circle and surely there should be a cloakroom to leave your coats as this made it even more cramped.
